Comet Systems has developed a cursor called the Comet cursor that
changes depending on the website that you are browsing. A computer
expert in Brookline, Mass. noticed last week that the software
tracks the websites that you visit after installing the cursor and
quietly records them. The company doesn't deny that they track and log
the information but they say they are not violating the customer's
privacy because they don't match the serial numbers with anyone's
real-world identity.
